Happy February Fetch Pack! It’s Clara, the certified trainer here at Fetch. Today I wanted to answer a few common questions that I get about our Board and Train program.

“How does it work?”

During your dog’s stay, they will receive either 9 days of boarding / 7 days of training, or 16 days of boarding and 14 days of training. What we work on is tailored to your top 3 goals for your dog. Whether that is greeting guests, doing basics like sitting and laying down, coming when called, or working on relaxation and impulse control -- we’ve got you covered!

“Will they still get to play?”

Your dog still gets playtime like they normally would during daycare or  boarding, and they get an hour session with me each day. I communicate with my staff about what they’re working on as well so that they can be sure to reinforce their manners too!

“Can I come say hi while they’re staying at Fetch?”

You will not have access to visit your dog during this time, and that is so that our training is as productive as possible. Having you come in and leave again can be upsetting for your pup, because they don’t understand why they can’t go home with you. You will get a report card texted to you from our staff each day, and for each training session, I will send you an e-mail with video progression of our training so that you still get to “see” your fur-baby. Here is an example of what a video progression may look like:

“How will I know what to do after I bring them home?”

Follow up training is included in our Board and Train package so that I can transfer the skills to you and set you and your dog up for success. It is recommended that our follow-up session is within one week of their stay so that you can start back consistent at home!

“How do I get scheduled?”

First, we’ll start with a free 30 minute consultation to discuss your lifestyle, and goals for your dog and make sure that the Board and Train is a good fit for you and your pup.

I can’t wait to meet you and your baby!
